I have a playlist with all my backgrounds in and i am trying to remotely trigger the next item in the playlist using Companion/Streamdeck and nothing happens?? I can control and get feedback for all other functions.
I have tried sending http://localhost:8088/api/?function=NextPlayListEntry from the browser on the machine and this does nothing either.
Am I missing something??

Is the PlayList playing when executing the function?
(it won't work otherwise, and if you are changing it manually, you may want to set the Playlist to "Manual Mode" so as not to be caught off guard by an automatic transition to next item)

No it wasn't but just tried it with it live and still no joy, not that it would help much anyway if it did as I mostly don't want to change when live. i have a high number of videos for next weeks gig and was trying not to have to use a separate input for each of them to maintain performance

List or Playlist ?

I feel like you're talking about the List input, hence the shortcut is "NextItem"
