Counting Outputs correctly?

With 4k or Pro, (which I don't have yet), if I want to send key/fill to an ATEM, still sending PGM to External Out 1, would I need to use one of the Fullscreen outs? It seems that apart from NDI, I have 3 'hardware outs' if external 1 is tied to program. Have I got this right?

Hi VideoE Essentially Key and Fill only uses a single output channel in vmix, however it will require 2 SDI connections on your BMD card or similarly supported device for this functionality. So if External 1 is program, you can use external 2 as your key&fill output. The manual is really thorough on this topicThe Fullscreen outputs do not support Key and fill functionality. Hope that helps!

Tobin, thanks. Saw that section in the manual and I thought that it was referring to the key signal setup, not the fill. Thanks for the clarification.

And as a follow-up newbie question... If I want to send out a not 'live' input, say a custom multi-view, does it have to be sent from the Fullscreen outputs or can I send it via SDI from outputs 3 or 4? From the user guide: Quote:Output 3, 4 These additional outputs are available for use with Video Call, Instant Replay, SRT and NDI only. FWIW, I'm a live event guy, behind Ross, Panasonic or Atem camera switchers or Barco E2's, Analog Way Ascender screen switchers, etc. Lot's of hardware outputs for Confidence monitors, producer MVRs, etc. The Vmix approach is exciting but different and I'm still trying to wrap my head around what I can and cannot do as compared to my usual setups, so thanks fro you patience.
