I have a virtual input with some graphics and an animation.

I've setup the animation to trigger another virtual input on completion.

.... but it doesn't work.

Can't we use "oncompletion" triggers on parts of virtual inputs?

Based on your saying, it's not clear if it's a virtual input or a multiview input.
Triggers must be setup directly to inputs or virtual inputs or multiview inputs but not their content.

Good Morning!

I'm new to vMix and struggle with the same problem described in this two years old post.

I've got a video Input that triggers another video on completion. I want to use the same video at another time, but this time I want it to trigger a third video on completion. So I created a virtual input based on the first video input. For this virtual input I deleted the triggers inherited from the original input and defined a new trigger to open the third video on completion. Unfortunately the trigger doesn't work.

If I do it the same way, but adding the video as a new video input instead of creating a virtual input, everything works fine.

I tried the way with the virtual input, because I suspect it to be more memory efficient. Can anybody tell me what the advantages of virtual inputs are?

With best regards,

René

@ Crocodiles Video

Virtual Inputs can be very useful in a lot of situations, but when you make a Virtual Input out of a video Input, it is not an actual Video Input (as you have found out) and wont Trigger anything OnCompletion because it doesn't have a playhead that completes (it's just a "window" to the original Input, if that makes sense).
What you have done by adding the Video a second time is probably the simplest and most straight forward solution, but there are other options such as Triggering a timer to start OnTransitionIn and when the timer completes have it trigger something else, that way, you could use the same video as many times as you create Virtual Inputs for it and each Virtual Input could Trigger its own thing.

Ice.

Thank You for your reply Ice!

The main question is, what is the most effective solution. Because I have to run vMix on a Laptop. Does it affect CPU or Memory just to add an input or only when the input is in use?

I hope it's the last one.

René
