Hi. Coming to vMix from OBS. Usage model is running a church service (3 NDI sources + a couple of videos). To make it super easy for volunteers I created a playlist of scenes in OBS, named to match what's happening in the service: (e.g., welcome, announcements, youth_message, scripture_reading, homily, meditation, special_music, etc.). There are about 40 such transitions in a 90-minute service. In OBS our volunteers just click the next named scene when the next 'event' starts in the service. The key here is making it as close to fool-proof as possible for volunteers!

Now to vMix. A manually-advanced playlist in vMix comes close to this, except each playlist entry = the name of the input. In my world, the same vMix input (e.g., camera #1 focused on lectern) would correspond to different 'events' during the service (e.g., announcements, scripture_reading, homily). So...three questions:

1) In vMix, how can I create such a playlist with volunteer-friendly names?

2) If this is a stretch (or maybe even if not), is there a way for me to create an external vMix controller that presents the friendly playlist for volunteers, but which fires off the correct vMix inputs under the covers?

3) Is there some other way to accomplish this in vMix that I'm not yet aware of? My OBS-formed mental model is undoubtedly shaping and perhaps limiting the way I'm approaching the problem.

Many thanks in advance.
