So I am trying to send whats in vMix to a Microsoft Teams Live Event.

I have setup my Teams live event and checked the "use external encoder"

I have launched my Teams Live event and clicked "Setup" so Teams Live event is waiting for the stream.

Microsoft Teams has given me something that looks like this for an RTMP URL:

rtmp://yh6eukdxv4lrua2ppd27kcwa2c-streamusea1su021-usea.channel.media.azure.net:1935/live/ba91c0caefb144f49f9d57ddc7e538gd

I have edited the key at the end.

What do I put in the custom RTMP settings in vMix to make this go?

I have tried using everything up to /live/ and put what looks like the key in the key.

I have tried putting this whole link in the URL.

In all cases vMix throws an I/O error that is not super helpful.

Using FFMPEG2 encoder

The key is not used by the rtmp to stream.
To my knowledge you could put in anything you want.

There are a few downsides
1. Ifyour connection drops, the stream will be closed.
2. You can only have selected in your organization. An anyone in your organization. But not anonymous
3. Related to 1. You can not have a backup stream to keep the event open.

I would advice to use ndi as virtual cam in to a normal teams event. That offers all the backup solutions. And 2 streams. And anonymous is than possible.

For future people I figured this out.

You place the entire URL with what looks like the key in the URL field.

They key you enter 123456.

I found these settings suggestions from a post on OBS to Microsoft Teams Live Events.

I hope this helps someone else.
