Hi champs,
I would like to get some advice on how to address this setup:
Multiple locations, let's say three, connected to 'main location' all four locations needs to hear and talk to each other, main location stream to an external streaming (Vimeo or such).
All locations needs to hear each other regardless what goes out to the stream. All three connected to main with VMIX call.
We had allot of return feedback issues and I would like to get some pro point of view in terms of how to 'mega mix minus' this scenario with great success.
external mixes and/ or audio interfaces are not an issue.

Gimmie some pro tips guys!
Thanks in advance,
RP.

Route all calls to an extra bus. Lets say A. Send that bus back to callers as well.

OK Thanks, and what should be the setup @ the callers side?
Keep in mind we need to hear the call in all of the halls as well.

The main location collects all calls on bus A and sends this bus A back. Then you have a mix minus and everyone can hear each other.

Careful with mavik's approach. If you only care about master audio that'll work fine, but hearing it locally via soloing, so you don't have to send it out to master, doesn't seem to work as expected.

Unfortunately, as mentioned, I haven't found a great solution to this either.

You can use Bus B for monitoring purposes if you set a different destination in the sound output settings. I believe that is the key for your problems. If all busses output on the same device the concept of a bus is infiltrated.

Which means you need a separate hardware out because vMix can't switch audio outputs on the fly.

Soloing it to Headphones does not, as mentioned, work.

Hi There,

after quite a couple of calls I came to the result (or works for me best...)
Put every Call to a seperate audio bus.
i.g. Call1 D, Call 2 E (that´s meanwhile my way of routing the calls)

Put your headset for receiving the calls in the Background to Bus A

On B and C I collect callers to route them to the master.

This way you can:
have call 1 live presenting (call 1 to M)
& prepare call 2 (to A) via headset (to E)
& you won´t disturb any of your callers by another caller doing some bullshit like dropping
a headset

If you put all Callers to one Bus you will talk in caller 1s Presentation
while talking to caller 2.

If you send your Audio to a audio desk make sure you get n-1 back from your audio engineer!

If you then have 2 callers presenting together or put in a Q&A Session you must
connect them then concerning the Audio Feed (Call1 M&E, Call 2 M&D)

Thanks for helping in solving the issues regarding audio call connectivity through VMIX.
