Hi,
we often have the task in various online conferences to allow far more than 8 remote guests to be part of the conference. They do not have to be online concurrently but need to connect throughout the day at different times.
I know that I can build a preset for each guest and load this preset during the conference but I'm not really convinced with that method because VMIX shortly freezes during appending a preset which is not acceptable during a live-production.
My feature-request would be to add a menu item (if you right-click on any VMIX Call), that allows us to set this specific VMIX-Call to "allow calls" or to deselect this option. With the option deselected it wouldn't accept any incoming calls for that specific VMIX-Call slot.
With that feature it would be possible to setup all the calls that are needed during the day (maybe even 20-30) but having only these active (respecting the VMIX-license of up to 8 or 4 or 1) that are needed. So VMIX-Pro would accept 8 VMIX-Calls on "Accept calls", VMIX-4k would accept 4 and so on.
This would be a great feature so setup the whole show in advance.
Does this make sense?
Cheers
Andrew

Yes I do exactly that.
But VMIX freezes about 1 sec. on appending any additional VMIX-Call from another preset on every machine that we have (we have 3 licenses and 6 machines running VMIX). I'm referring to the application, not the stream.
But aside from this issue it would help a lot to prepare a show if we could set all VMIX Calls (we have about 20-30 per day) in advance and activate only those which are needed.
Cheers
Andrew

Andrew Ich kann es auf meinem PC nicht nachvollziehen. Bei mir friert vMix nicht ein. I cannot understand it on my PC. For me, vMix doesn't freeze.

I would really like to believe you. But I know that this issue is present on all of our machines with different CPUs and GPUs. So I don't think you remember this behaviour right. If you could post a little video of using a big VMIX project and than adding a VMIX-Call from another preset without any freeze (it is only 1-2 sec) I would further investigate. But what we have now is nothing but your claim and no proof. I can post a video of that behaviour right away. You can even see the freezing in a VMIX Tutorial video: But you are missing the point completely here. It is all about showprep. And that is why this option would really help everybody that is using VMIX in a more professional way by using more than 2 calls. Cheers Andrew

We moved to NDI Teams for larger events. So far so good.
The quality is not as good as VMix Call and the muting had to be done on the MS Team side, but overall, it’s reduced a lot of headaches.

Generally speaking I think it's time for vMix Call to get some serious update, not cosmetic but serious.
