Hey folks. I'm working on a multi-way talkback mechanism using an audio bus so I can route producer/local talent audio as well as staged-down content audio to my talent. Here's the mechanism in use:
On talkback start: - switch local audio inputs to bus A - switch all vmix calls to Bus A - SoloOn, Bus A
On talkback stop: - SoloOff, Bus A - switch all vmix calls to master - switch local audio inputs to master
So this...almost works. Producer + local talent (working off the headphones audio and getting their own voices back through direct monitoring) can hear non-vmix call content, like background music or a video. And remote guests over vMix Call can hear local inputs as well as the content. But local talent cannot hear the remote vMix Call users.
I'm wondering if it's an oddity with regards to the way the automatic mix-minus works for vMix Call, but I'm just guessing.
I don't want to go the "solo everybody individually" route if at all avoidable because that means I can't use Bus A as a general catch-all for audio as I want people on the talkback channel to hear each other. Has anyone done similar and found success?

@tracecomplete - is the producer local (can be an audio input into VMIX) or on a VMIX call?

Producer is local. Sorry, should have specified; in our setup the producer (hi) is also talent.
