I just got to work to send an SRT stream with 1 video and 6 audiochannels to wowza and back to vmix. At wowza I want to split these audiochannels in 6 separate mpeg-ts streams. Therefore i need the mpegts Audio PID of each channel. I wonder if there is a single PID for each audio channel or if there is only one. Media info shows me only one PID for all 6 audio tracks: PID=0x101 or PID=257.

Does anybody know if vMix genarates only one PID for all audio tracks?

Hello Streamlab,

I plan exactly the same thing with VMIX and Wowza. So I would like to ask you: is it works for you? Martin said there is no separated Audio pids for the audio channels, only one. So I'm just curious about your result.

Thanky you! Peter

I do not know about Wowza, but we use Nibmle Streamer and their transcoder. We input the SRT feed and then seperate the channels using transcoder by the audio channel number.

Hello MartLeib!

Thank you for your answer!
Yes, this way can be a good workaround, but IMHO its not a real solution. We don't want to transcode the signal, just distribute the original multiaudio SRT to separated HLS streams with different audio (language).

If I know well, if you want to separating the audio channels without the reencodign process, then you have to use audio PID's to "locate" the needed audio track. Anyway all the broadcast SRT and MPEGTS encoders/decoders works in this way.

Anyway even the OBS can do the "trick".

I agree, PID's would be great.

I talked to a Wowza support, actually there is no solution for this, for the multi audio stream, different audio tracks with different audio PIDS is a must have thing. Not a big surprise, this is the way...

Hi @MartLeib,

We are planning to do the same but unfortunately, we are not that familiar with vMix. Would you mind sending a quick DM or a link how to set up vMix to receive the different Audio Channels in Nimble Server? Thanks a lot.
