I have a local city council that I'm going to be installing VMix 4k and they are looking to add a Shure MXC640 wireless mic/voting system to the setup. I've been trying to find out what kind of voting results output the Shure system has but cannot find any answers. I'm going to go with assumption that it will save the results to a text file since I think I saw that info somewhere. If that's the case, I know I will be able to parse that information and populate a title input to overlay the results. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this setup or, are there any other recommendations for voting systems anyone might suggest. We do like the wireless flexibility for being able to reconfigure the room seating for multiple events.

Look forward to any ideas and suggestions.

Don

The shure offers an option to extract the votings.
This can only be done over TCP/IP.

https://www.shure.com/nl...ussiesystemen/mxc/mxc640
I know the page is in dutch but the documentation is in English
Scroll down to “Documentation”

Download the Command Strings pdf - MXC commands and than chapter 7.

I knew I had seen something about it but couldn't track it down again. Thanks Pepsi.

Now I'll just need to learn how to make the GET request save the info to a document or to auto populate a title page. Some learning ahead. If you know of any tutorials I could follow on the subject I'd welcome any ideas.

Thanks again.

It all depend if your vmix system is in te same network/vlan as the shure system.
If it is han i would advice to look first to parse the data to CSV
Nor only parse the votes. But also the time that te script run in to the csv.
And look in to datasourse usage for parsing the csv information on to in to a title in vmix

I did some digging.
As you can read in the beginning of the document , they sample they provide is with putty.
That means you you do not want to make it difficult for yourself. You could start with plink

Please look at one of the responses here:
https://stackoverflow.co...ommands-in-batch-windows

plink.exe -ssh user@host -pw password command > output.txt

But it has been 9 years ago that I used plink. So you might be doing some more digging,
But you. Can create a powershell (or VBS) wrapper around it to write the information from output.txt to a csv file.

Thanks I will look into this. The hard part is that I don't have the equipment yet so I can't do any testing. My main concern is that if it can't do the outputting we need, it is not wise to spend that kind of money on it. I touched base with a Shure Rep and he informed me that it is probably possible if we purchase the correct feature license. Of course. As if spending $30k on the equipment isn't enough to include that feature. I'll find out more after I speak to the feature license guru.
