Hi guys,

I'm testing vMix 11.0.0.66 and outputting Video/Audio to a Decklink SP PCIe card. When I play a DV AVI File off the local hard drive in vMix, the audio and video sometimes glitches out of the Decklink card.
I'm playing NTSC SD video, and all settings match settings in Blackmagic control panel. Monitoring CPU/GPU there is only 8-10% load on CPU and 25% load on GPU.

Anyone else experience similar issues with a Decklink or other output card ?

Hi,

The Nvidia 9400 GT is a very old card so it might be causing the glitches.
Also make sure the frame rate set in vMix settings under both the Display tab and External Output tab are the same and match the file being played back.

Could you describe in more detail what the glitches look like?

Regards,

Martin

* Correction, video card is actually Nvidia Geforce 8600GT

The audio/video glitch together at same time.

I am having same audio glitches jitter as described in the topic "Audio hicks / jitter" posted by Alfredvdh on 22 February 2014. The audio glitches in Alfredvdh video are same as mine.

Where do I check video Render Time in vMix to see if it is over 20ms ?

You can check the render time on the main screen, bottom/left, next to the CPU.
Your videocard isn't much different as mine. I'm going to replace mine and testing it.

Problems solved with a new graphic card. See my other post.

Ok thanks Alfred,

I also replaced my video card before I tested the render time with my Geforce 8600GT

I just installed a Geforce GTS450 and the render time is now 5~6ms.

The audio/video glitching seems to be gone playing NTSC DV AVI material.

But the audio/video glitching remains playing NTSC MPEG video.

Is there other factors other than the graphics card that will determine smooth playback in vMix ?

I am only working with SD video playing off the local hard drive.

** I Just tested vMix on a different system with no external renderer, only a Geforce 7600GS output to PC monitor, and playback is smooth with no glitches !

Why is playback with only Geforce 7600GS smooth ? but playback on system with Geforce GTS450 and Decklink card as external renderer glitching ?

Thank You
