Using the 4k version with 2 fullscreen outputs
1 output is going to a projector on an hdmi feed
can i set this output to receive something other than the master audio output - say an audio bus instead?

Usually when connecting an HDMI device, a corresponding audio device gets added to your system. In vMix Settings, Audio Outputs you can select this device on one of the audio busses. And, there you can set Master to Enabled, to make sure that the Master audio doesn't go to a device you don't want it to go to.
