I can see that the Elgato HD60 S+ is supported by vMix and many people use it without issues. However when I try to add it as an input using any sensible resolution / frame rate I get the following error:

Resolution not supported

Capture resolution not supported by this device.

The only suggested settings are all variations of 3840x2160. I don’t want to use such a high resolution, but anything lower doesn’t seem to work!

When I choose a 3840x2160 resolution vMix says it doesn’t support such a high resolution.

Any ideas why I might be having this issue?

i have exact the same problem with Elgatos Camlink 4K, in earlier versions i could "cheat" vmix with a EDID Dongle, but this does not seem to work anymore.

According to the vMix Supported Hardware, Video Capture Hardware for the CamLink

Quote:
(Progressive Video Sources Only)

What is your camera output resolution and frame rate?

Hi SportsNetUSA-net,

But I’m not using the Elgato CamLink, I’m using the Elgato HD60 S+.

Wanted to use 1080i50, but also tried many other settings, progressive and interlaced, 1080 and 720 etc. All had the same error saying the capture resolution isn’t supported.

I’m guessing it’s a bug of some kind, and a full reinstall should fix it. But i wanted to see if anyone else had the same issue first, in case there was a simpler solution!

Sorry Ben, I can't read :)

Have you downloaded the vMix Elgato configuration tool?

Ha ha no worries I have the same problem some times.
Yep I’ve looked at the config tool, but I think that’s only needed for Game Capture HD60S & Game Capture HD60 Pro?
As described here, the HD60 S+ should be “plug and play”

https://www.vmix.com/kno...apture-devices-with-vmix

But anyway, I figured out what my issue was.
I was trying to add the HD60 S+ as an input in vMix without first connecting my camera and sending picture to it.
When you add it as an input, you have to choose the res/frame rate it’s currently receiving. This seems obvious enough, but what caught me out is even when it’s not receiving an image it remembers the settings of the last image it did receive, and can’t be added as an input to vMix with any other settings!
