Not exactly a feature request, but a question: how will the "multi view" feature work? I mean, how will you manage the transition between the "normal" display and the "multi view"?
Also, will there be an easy way to see the "cropping" that will occur on each source beforehand?
Thank you!

Attached are some screenshots that should explain how it works.
You can create a multiview out of any existing input, i.e a background image as in this example.

MultiView 1
MultiView 2

Great! So, if I understand it right, the "multi view" is considered as a new input? And the fader will make a transition between a standard view and a "completed" multi view. How whould I achieve the classic effect of "pushing" the first image to the right while introducing the second one on the left?

Absolutely great!

Please also include in multiview: (1) PIP and (2) a video overlay.

1. I would REALY LIKE to be able to cut/fade to a PIP using the keyboard (speaker in full view and his powerpoint/keynote in PIP) instead of using the O1/O2 microbuttons :-). As it is now, i have to switch to my desired camera, click the O2 button in the keynote input to show as PIP, then click O2 again to remove the PIP and finally switch camera. Using multiview with PIP support, I can define an input with the desired camera and the keynote as PIP. Much easier!

2. It would be ABSOLUTELY GREAT to be able to fade to a title input using the keyboard. I would really like to be able to create a video with an alpha channel with the name of the speaker (as in some moving colours and some animated text). Then to define a multiview with a camera and the videoclip as a full view overlay. Then fade to the input using the keyboard (and vMix automatically starting the video).

I have a few small issues I should have reported earlier, but here comes:

1. Please make the keyboard shurtcuts (QWERT, ASDFG, ZXCVB etc.) case insensitive. I seem to go to panic if I by accident activate Caps-lock :-)

2. Please make the Start and Stop buttons for Recording/External seperate buttons. When I start recording, the focus stays on the 'Start recording' button. I have experienced more than once that I unknowingly have stopped recording because i accidently touched the spacebar. I would really like two buttons that looks like traditional record/stop buttons (red circle for recording, black square for stop) Discreetely flashing red circle for recording would be nice :-)

Keep up the excellent work!

Hi Daniel,

1. I will try to make sure PIP is included as a multiview option. (overlay will be the default option)
2. There are some configurable keyboard options in the next release, one of these will be to assign a keyboard key to the QuickPlay button on one of the inputs.

1. The keyboard shortcuts have been modified to be case insensitive in the next release.
2. Due to limited screen space, would it work if I just prevent the recording buttons from being activated by the keyboard?

Regards,

Martin

Some new features appearing in vMix 2012:

Title Templates and Text Editing
-These are selectable title templates that can be easily inserted into vMix.
-The first beta will include a few basic designs, such as for scoreboards and tv titles.
-The final release will hopefully have around 50 free title designs covering all the popular categories.
-The Text,Font and Colour of each Title can be easily edited within vMix in real time.
-Users can build their own templates or edit the existing templates with the free Microsoft Visual Studio Express editions or Microsoft Expression Blend.
-This replaces the planned vMix Title Designer product.

If anyone has any suggestions on what title design types they would like to see included let me know.

MultiCorder
-The ability to record the raw video output of multiple Capture Inputs to separate AVI files with selectable codec.
-This requires a very high end computer to support. (Core i7 with multiple hard drives)
-Will be included in the beta, but will require a separate license when released officially. (vMix HD + MultiCorder license for $500)

Editable Keyboard Shortcuts
Assign custom keys to any input or transition with customisable durations.

vMix

Sure, but the two buttons could be made to fit inside the space already taken by the [Start] button: See Image

Maybe reducing the [Setup] button to a smaller button with a 'gear' icon.

It looks good, and the time counter;
recorded time to the hard drive where it is.
Martin
as I can do to capture 3 0 4 windows at the same time?

1 - Video main background
2 - Logo Video alpha channel.
3 - extra camera window
4 - Video Effect; ornaments. alpha channel, flash, pgn, etc.

Now I can only select 2 permanent;
if I want to blend more, you lose everything
and it is important mix several videos in the same time, the main objective of Vmix.
Martin will be grateful, give more options here
[1] and [2] and [3] and [4] not only 2
Thanks for your patience .

Se ve bueno , y el contador de el tiempo ;

Martin
como puedo hacer para capturar 3 0 4 ventanas al mismo tiempo ?

1- Video fondo principal
2- Logo Video canal alfa .
3- Ventana extra camara
4- Video Efecto ; adornos . alfa canal , flash , pgn , etc

Ahora solo puedo seleccionar 2 permanentes ;
si quiero mesclar mas , se pierde todo
y lo importante es mix varios videos en igual tiempo , es el objetivo principal de Vmix .
Martin te agradeceria , dar mas opciones en este punto

Hi Martin.

I have a feature request maybe related with the "multicorder" facility.

We usually mix two cameras and put an overlay PIP from a third camera.

We stream the whole result of mix and overlay, but we are interested in recording the result of the mixing, without the PIP overlay.

I am interested both in recording the mix internally or externally with a rendering to a device (virtual or physical).

May be the solution could be having two different renderers/recorders with the possibility of assign/exclude the different sources to each one.

Thanks in advance. Best regards,

Antonio

Hola Martin,

Saludos,

Antonio

Hi Antonio,

The multicorder facility is for the raw recording of capture inputs only.
Due to the complexity involved in allowing multiple renders of different combinations, this will not be possible.

Martin

It seems that the changes on the new product are amazing Martin!

I have two requests:

1. Can we use a remote control and the keyboard to advance Powerpoint presentations?

2. If I use the keyboard I've noticed that it skips 10 slides at a time, is there a way to make it move one slide at a time?

Good job! I'm actually writing a blog in Portuguese explaining how to setup a website to have live and recorded video streaming for churches and vMix will be the main differential, for sure!
