The quality of your Cam depend also on your capture card.
Note that the environment where you will capture your feed is also important in your choice

There are many factors to consider when choosing a camera, or any piece of hardware for that matter. If budget is your major "determinator", then perhaps this camera is a good place to start, but the camera does come with mixed reviews:

What is your application? If the cameras will be locked off on a tripod with a static shot you will likely be alright, if you will have camera operators following action, then you are likely to be more challenged to get good results. How far will your cameras be from your capture card? HDMI will likely limit you that way. Undoubtedly, the more professional you want to be, the more costly it becomes.

The goal is to create a 3 camera podcast with an extra hdmi source for reviews and such. I am looking at the Magewell XI400DE-HDMI in a Magma ExpressBox 1T. $1500 US. Laptop $1000. Which leaves me with little room for cameras.

We use an HFR-20 by Canon and a GoPro 3 Hero+ with a few black magic capture cards. It looks incredible for the price. The Canon camera runs about $370 new. Here is a video of us using it for live production in vMix.
