I have an overlay that only holds black color text on a transparent background. I have about 15 different overlays. But I'm not able to see the difference between them in the preview. This is because the default background is set to black. Is there a way that I can set the background for a loaded overlay to a different color?

Have a transparent color input add a color layer to it in Multiview" add your title to the multiview trigger to turn off the colored layer on OverlayIn and back on on OverlayOut

Thanks for the suggestion. that is what I've now been doing. but still in the initial view it is difficult to see. Once applied it is no problem.
I make snapshots and provide it to our communications department if it is textual correct. (even after the use of copy and past of the data they provide) But it means additional steps. that could result in errors. I rather see that I could change the background color for preview when I select to add an GT Text Overlay

When i said add color i forgot to mention it to be a contrasting color to your text Quote: I rather see that I could change the background color for preview when I select to add an GT Text Overlay Is exactly what it is doing while not overlayed in output !! the other part i have no idea what you are trying to say

If you have 1 GT Text overlay it is not an issue. I have 70.

Oh did they breed while posting here ;-) Initially you said 15
Anyway , you want something special you need to prepare something special
one can duplicate the first setup to a virtual input and replace the layer with another title One can create shortcuts to replace the layer etc

Hi Doggy, yes 15 overlays. but some are names of people. so what we have don is use the import/export option in the text editor. Because we do not want to assign the wrong name to the wrong person. Having the ability to switch between background colors is something I was hoping for.

You are aware that its easy to change content (names etc) with data sources wile being able to visually see which is selected without even having to see the title or open its editor ? Quote:Having the ability to switch between background colors is something I was hoping for.
You mean not switch to a color for easy viewing before overlaying as initially suggested but change the color itself all together for the putput ? Why ? You are using overlays which go on top of what is already there Have the impression there is a need to rethink the workflow and figure out what you can do with vMix. There are a lot of (video)tutorials The most important part of a production is the preparation !

I'm not new to vmix. I'm running it for about 2 years. this was the first time that I faced something that annoyed me. I only have 20 NDI sources. 40 SRT sources. 70 overlays and a view video's that I use during a Teams Live event. And I have about 100 combinations in multiviews. But the company style has changed. that is why text is now in black.
