We are using PowerPoint input as an overlay and our operator progresses manually through the slides in step with our speaker. He prefers to do this by right clicking PowerPoint in the preview window and uses the small thumbnails in that popup of the slides to click instead of the << & >> buttons directly below the preview window. This floating window can sometimes get in the way though.
My suggestion is to offer a view of any slideshow that consists of the thumbnails of the slides in the same space as the existing preview window. My thought is a new button near the where the << & >> controls are today could switch the view between single slide and 'grid'. Grid view could offer 2 or 3 rows of slides in that same space, with scroll support. Clicking a slide activates it in the output just like it does from the settings view.
