Trigger for countdown to time?

I've searched in the forums, but didn't find an answer. I'd like to setup a countdown to time of day clock and have it trigger other things when it reaches zero. This doesn't seem like something that is currently supported by vMix. Does anyone happen to have a usable workaround they've figured out? It looks like this has been on the vMix radar for a few years, but it doesn't seem to be a priority.

Countdowns can trigger, clocks can not
Countdown to time is a clock
it is supported using a script checking the system time
There is an example in the Scripting-for-Dummies post
