I have a situation where I want to have a remote camera that is connected via ethernet to the PC running VMIX.

Any suggestions on how to do this.

To get started, I simply used a laptop and running VLC to stream the web cam. I used RTSP protocol. I set up a desktop PC running VMIX and set up one of the inputs to injest this stream. The physical connection was wifi from the laptop to the LAN and then ethernet cable from the wireless AP to the desktop running VMIX. The results were disappointing. Any significant movement in the picture and it would break up.

I have successfully used VLC to stream MPEG encoded video across the LAN to pcs running windows media player.
Is it possible to injest a MPEG encoded stream into VMIX?

2
Instead of using VLC on the laptop, could I use another copy of VMIX and have it stream out to desktop? Any pointers on how to do this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Frank
