Hi,

I'm curious if you're having issues with the call system? We are demo'ing your software and on three occasions this morning, all of our calls completely froze yet our internet connection (and stream to another place) are all in tact. It appears to be vMix Call. Any ideas? Each time, we end up having remote guests dial-in and they come right back.

For reference: We have three internet connections. All of them are Fiber and 1GB/1GB. We also have full redundancy. Lastly, our connections never went down, yet all of our vMix calls would drop simultaneously (4 calls) randomly on about five occasions today.

Obviously vMixcall.com is used for authentication, but I’m assuming beyond that...if the vmix call server goes down, we would get disconnected from callers. Is that correct? If so, is there potentially a way to have 100% direct connects with guests directly to our facility?

Typically, with VMix Call you are connected directly to your caller, the vMix Call servers are only the initial “facilitator” of the connection, essentially, you each connect to the server and the server lets you know where the other is so you can connect directly.
As such, any issues with the call will be somewhere between you and your caller, if you are sure your internet connection is solid then it is either network congestion or an issue at the callers end.
Can you verify that your callers all have similar internet connections as you?

you have to open Ports at your Router/Firewall.
In the forum there are many entries on this topic. Often it is enough to enter the search term "vmixcall Ports" in Google.
vMixcall Firewall Requirements

Without opening the ports, it is likely that the connection will be routed through the Turn Server of vMix.This reduces the bandwidth and increases the latency.
To test if the connection is peer to peer, the Video Call Input has a checkbox labeled "Allow only direct peer to peer connections" and an explanation link.
If no connection is established with this checkbox activated, the router settings (on the vMix side) are not correct or do not exist.
Since the beginning of the Corona period we have handled hundreds of vMixcall worldwide without any problems.

For what it is worth, there have been no outages on any of our servers in a number of weeks now.
Even if there were, as vMix Call is usually a direct connection it would not impact calls already in progress in most cases.
