We have a main computer for vMix and another computer, a laptop, for PowerPoint. The laptop is connected via NDI. We will be adding a PCI capture card for HDMI. We can then connect the laptop via HDMI. The biggest advantage is that the PowerPoints will now be able to display embedded video and audio if input via HDMI. Am I missing something or are there other advantages to using NDI compared to HDMI?

1. You can use powerpoints within vMix itself as a source. (Operator controls PPT) 2. You can ingest the PPT over a webpage input when presented online (the PPT control can be somewhere) 3. Screencapture via NDI (laptop is "locked" with the presentation) 4. PPT to NDI software. Can be found here in the forum (ability to alpha out the background) 5. HDMI more for short distances, in combination with a capture card and connected as a "second" monitor you free up the laptop main screen. But more gear to connect. More errors could happen.
In all cases you can overlay the speaker.
