Hi there,
TL;DR: I am trying to find a way that will let the following happen:
When an input is taken to preview, this serves as a trigger to activate the multiview overlay (on/off) of another input.

This can be done when an input goes to program, just not preview as far as I can tell.

Is there a scripting command for this? Or would this be a feature request?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

In case you want to know what this is for, see below.

I am trying to build a "poor-man's" multi-view for a large project that requires hundreds of inputs. My method is to use the multiview overlays to build the mosaic out of virtual cams (clones of the real sources.) Then, a colored-box border overlay (green or red) is set in each virtual input's multiview overlay section. FInally, the "real" inputs have triggers set up so that when I take them to program, it turns on the multiviewer overlay in the corresponding virtual input, thus creating a tally.

Yeah, I know, it's not the most efficient by any means, but I have 112 SRT inputs via NDI and need a multiview of them.

So, the homebrew MV looks at the virtualinput clones of the real ones and the real ones have triggers to turn on and off tally on the virtual ones based on their program status.

Thanks for reading.

in a script one can check which input is in preview....and go from there

My scripting knowledge in vmix is minimal, any pointers on a resource for finding these commands and such? (I don't see anything int he user manual at any great level of detail.) And/or, would you know the relevant command?

Thank you,
