Hi. Is anyone else having trouble trying to understand this software? I am an older user. We want to live-stream and add super chat. I found OBS to be way too complicated and VMix videos go way too fast and he keeps saying things like "Just do this" and "simply do that". For him sure, it is easy!. I am a "hands-on" repetition user. Meaning I have to do a process over a few times to get it. I downloaded their user manual and I am still lost. What I do not get is how to save presets so you don't have to load them again. I don't understand how to add split-screen. Again their video went 100 miles an hour and lost me. I also don't understand how to add super chat so we can have it live on our channel. These guys I think believe all their users have a PHD in live broadcasting. I understand video editing really well using Vegas and Adobe but this software sadly loses me even with their videos. Does anyone have videos that go slowly step by step on how to add Superchat and split-screen without going fast and using layman's terms older users can understand? People really need to understand that learning curves for people are not the same. VMix looks like a nice piece of software but I think they need videos that slow down and go slower on instruction. I am frustrated right now. I have had it now for almost a week spending hours with it, and so far I can not figure out anything with it other than getting a cmmera to work and one graphic overlay which I have to keep loading again every time I open it up as with the camera. It should not be this hard.

Depends on what you mean by old :-)

I'm 45 and it took a good 4 months of weekly use to really get my head around everything. Audio routing is probably what will take the longest if you haven't dealt with digital mixers prior.

The only thing I really haven't touched is scripting. Many of us have experienced in the video industry so it may come easier.

When you save a preset, you should be able to load it back up by clicking on the preset file. I would also recommend exporting the shortcuts separately if you have several projects. so that you can reimport when you get back to a previous project.

As for super chat, I don't believe it's supported by VMix Social, so you would have to bring it in via a browser input, crop the sections you don't want, then use the overlay feature to bring that to the screen.

Here is the overlay tutorial:

The term in our business is if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
