Last month a friend Dan conducted a virtual version of CommCon, a conference for developers working in real-time communications. In virtualizing this conference, he preproduced the presentations. To do this he hired a production company in the UK who is a vMix user. They used a combination of vMix Call and something else to capture the presenters and their presentations. Dan was determined to capture source feeds in 1080p so that the overall production could be in 4k. Along the way, some of the RTC developers were introduced to NDI. They expressed some interest. The lead of the Janus project has already implemented a beta of a plugin that allows Janus to send NDI to a local production situation. People involved in Jitsi Meet has similarly expressed interest. Going forward, you may be able to stage your own webrtc platform, using common open source tools, and integrate with your production via NDI.

This week there is a virtual version of the Cluecon conference for RTC. One of the events is called the Dangerous Demos, where developers are encouraged to hack together something showing off novel use of their latest work. Lorenzo Miniero of Meetecho/Janus showed a WebRTC > NDI gateway. He has attendees join a webrtc conference service (Janus) which passed them all to a local instance of Janus. He then received an NDI stream for each participant in OBS. This demo is at the 1 hour point. ?t=3720 PS - Cluecon 2018 & 2019 live streams were produced using vMix. In 2019 I also used the (then) brand new BirdDog P200 NDI PTZ cameras and a few BirdDog Studio NDI encoders to capture presenter laptops. This year the event is being run atop the Signalwire/Freeswitch platform itself. Freeswitch is the media engine underlying Zoom, amongst many other services.
