Good morning.
I just installed a BirdDog P100 PTZ camera on vMix 4K in NDi.
I state that it is the first time, to date I only installed with SDi.
I noticed a persistent problem with the correct fluidity of the video.
The shots are jerky with an evident loss of frames.
The vMix project is consistent with the resolution and frame rate of the camera.
Can anyone help me to check the installation parameters?

You would need a proper 1G connection to the vmix computer. Buy a good 1G switch, doesn't have to be managed but usually that is often the problem.

our network (including switch) is Giga ...

If you are convinced it's not the network you can run the NDI debug tool available at newtek.
Have you tried to switch AV off. Some software might have difficulties scanning streams.

Also, verify that both the computer and the camera have 1 GB links at the switch. Most indicate this in some fashion.

If you have a bad cable a link might be dropped to 100 MB and you'd have problems.

I adjusted ... so reduced the NDI data stream on the camera (BirdDog P100) to the minimum possible (80Mbps).
Despite this, the lost frame problem persists.
I'm afraid that NDI is a nice project but it is rather "immature".
A beautiful paradigm that still has a lot to develop and above all stabilize.
I never had these problems either with SDi or HDMi ...

I have changed from SDI to NDI completely. And yes, the network domain is a bit more complex as a dedicated SDI or HDMI cable, true. But this doesn't mean that it's not gonna work. You have to pay more attention and have to understand the network and it's components better to troubleshoot and diagnose.
If you want to exclude NDI from other traffic you can create a VLAN exclusively for that. But a switch might have a max data throughput and if the video data overruns the switches capacity you can create as many VLANs as you can but won't solve the problem.
Please keep in mind that 4 NDI signals can be done in a 1G network, IF there is not much other traffic. And please remember that NDI is per default unicast. Ingesting a cam in vmix and checking the same cam in Studio monitor produces twice the bandwidth. 1x unicast cam to vmix, 1x unicast cam to studio monitor. I hope this illustrated how easy it is to flod the network with NDI and reach limits here or there.

I said I have changed to NDI completely. I have changed to 10G network completely as well. Just to be on the save side if you produce video for paying customers.
