Hi,

I have a spreadsheet with each race listed on a differrent sheet on an excel spreadsheet.

Is it possible to change the text on the title just by changing the sheet. At present I am having to create a Title for each race taking data from a different sheet. I would like to have just one title that changed all the data in the textboxes so they pulled data from a different sheet.

Any ideas?

your datasource is linked to a sheet data.
if you want to go this route (which is not a good idea imho) you can simply modify your datasource setting to use another sheet

the "quickest" way it to rename the sheet in the excel file to the name you have it set in the title editor
thanks 1 user thanked doggy for this useful post.

I had the same thought from a different angle which is to create a Current Sheet and copy and paste the sheet I want into it and use Current as the Sheet the data is drawn from. I was hoping that there was a way to do it from the Data Manage box by changing the sheet there.

That's exactly what I told you to do in the first place !

1st sheet
Presse-papier01.jpg (33kb) downloaded 2 time(s).

step 2 - change setting for datasource
Presse-papier02.jpg (35kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

now you're using 2nd sheet as the source for your data

Have to disagree on this one DWAM as one specifies the sheet again in the title editor and doesn't follow the sheet selection in the Data Source Manager

You're right Doggy

Then why not simply change the Sheet in the Title Editor? I just checked it works

Thanks for all the responses. I have a page with about 40 Text boxes linked to a sheet so I can't change over the sheet in the data source for each text box quickly.

I have found the importing of Spreadsheet data to be hit and miss.
For Example:
For no reason I can see some imported spreadsheets have blank rows under the data and some just have populated rows only.
Also I have found using the Shrink function doesn't work uniformly I have some names reduced in even the text length isn't too long for the textbox. All the settings are the same but some names are shrink and some aren't.
Here are 2 words that different sizes "Ken Smith" (This one is reduced in size) "Jimmy Allen" (This one stays the same size), I have copied and pasted these 2 names into the same cells and "Ken Smith" is still reduced.

** The shrink function issue was caused by there being extra blank spaces in the cell that I was unaware of **
