I have read you docs and have not found the answer.

How do I adjust the frame rate of my stream? The stream settings have no way to do this. Is it in another area? Do I just magically leave it to vMix to decide?

The stream settings are confusing at best. And the docs, https://www.vmix.com/hel...m?StreamingQuality.html, are not helpful and did not match what I am seeing at all.

And for some reason, the stream presets have four of the same output. See link to image below.

I am coming from Wirecast. vMix is superior in many ways, but as for setting up my stream quality to 720p, 30fps, 3-5Mbs... I really don't see how to do this in vMIx.

Hope you can help as I find it very un-intuitive. Thanks.

(Here is image of four of the same output settings. https://drive.google.com...nWO1SYl/view?usp=sharing
Why are there four identical output settings? And how do I clean this up... Can these be deleted?)

There's a gear icon next to the drop-down where you can adjust your stream settings. Your stream frame rate matches your production frame rate, you shouldn't be streaming with a different frame rate than your production.

I have thoroughly search and tested the gear icon. But where are the framerate settings for the output?

I understand that it is best to have all input settings match (framerate, resolution, etc.) but if it can't be matched (they all don't do 720p at 30 fps) then the encoder needs to help out. Right?

The ATEM Mini Pro's lowest output is 1080/30. But we don't always have the bandwidth for that. Wirecast (which we are trying to replace) can output a framerate and resolution different than the input. Of course this puts more strain on the computers but that is why we spend $$ on hardware. Can vMix handle this? Can vMix take different input settings and output them at a steady 720/30. I just don't see this option anywhere. There is no framerate setting in the "gear icon" settings.

In the end, we want to output at 720/30. The ATEM Mini Pro outputs at 1080/30. This is their lowest quality. But we often need 720/30. Can vMix take the 1080/30 and encode it at 720/30? If so, where are the settings for this? And how do we know the framerate? The "gear icon" offers limited options. And I still don't see anything about framerate?

I appreciate your quick reply and hope you can help me figure this out. If output framerates can't be set in vMix that we just have to live that. But if possible, awesome.
Hope this all makes sense. Thanks.

@ steve907

vMix will stream at the same frame rate as your project.
Settings ===> Master Frame Rate dropdown menu

The Stream Settings (Quality cog wheel) allows you to set the Resolution and bit rate
So for example, if your project is set to 1920x1080 @ 29.97p, you will be streaming at 29.97p at the resolution and bit rate of your choosing, which can be a 1280x720 @ 1500kbps preset for example..

@Steve907,you can find the bit rate settings when you click the gear icon next to the settings. You can also set the resolution for each stream, just choose any of it and customize. Hope this solves your problem

Where is this in the settings? It sounds like what I am looking for, just can't find it. Thanks.

There may be a technical reason why this is the case in VMIX call that I am unaware of, but in a practical world the flexibility should definitely be a desired feature.

If we want to do a production where the master record is 1080p5994, but want to push out a 1080p2997 stream (maybe there are bandwidth issues or one of a million other reasons), that option would be fantastic to have.

I prob should add this. as a feature request, but the ability to modify recording and/or streaming bitrates without stopping/starting the record/stream would be awesome as well. Makes it so much smoother to troubleshoot bandwidth issues when a production is actually live. Better than starting/stopping. OBS can do this, and it's vital sometimes.

This option would be awesome, many time I have to interrupt my stream because to adjust the stream settings especially since notwork in my area is never stable. My hope is it comes in soon.
