I'm sure it's non-standard for hardware video mixing boards, but we're using computers, so...

The #1 feature that I miss in vMix (and that's present in Xsplit, CamTwist, and other programs I've used) is drag-n-drop positioning and resizing. I do a lot of MultiView Inputs, and precise positioning requires that I manually enter values in the X/Y fields. It would be much nicer if I could click/drag the Input around in the Preview window (or in the area below the Position settings window). Thanks!

Drag and drop positioning is already supported.
Go to the MultiView tab in Input Settings and you can drag the inputs around there.

A brief explanation is at the bottom of the page below:

Hi,

I guess that's not what wscawebcast is saying...

If you can install a vidblaster trial.. You will understand how flexible it is to move around inputs as well as repositioning them.

Thanks.

They are referring to the position tab in Input Settings, so I am confident this is about multiview
positioning and not input positioning in the UI.

For what its worth, in other software you have limited screen space to move inputs around, once it is filled
you are pretty much stuck.

In vMix you have a scrollable input window and colour coded categories to organise inputs in a more logical manner.

Regards,

Martin

Agree with Martin. We used Vidblaster during some years, and it's quite annoying to have a limited space to put inputs. And when you have a lot of inputs, it can quickly become a big mess.

Not true...I have a friend with vidblaster, and he uses two monitors...What he does is to put all his inputs sometimes as much as 10 cameras, and many players on one monitor, and the preview and program on another....at the bottom of them, he places his titler, audio, recorder and output to stream...it looks great...another thing I wish, is that Martin would do a similar design GUI and he can call it Pro or broadcast, charge a few dollars more...I bet he will get better sales for such interface, since most users of these programs seem to prefer that type of interface.....a real-look design (as in audition or such programs) for the audio mixer..and what I notice is that if I disconnect a camera, or any source, and close and reopens vMix, they are removed from the layout...vidblaster will still load that window...That is one feature I really like....
