So i've been using After Effects to design lower thirds for my production, and ive only recently known that you can use Vmix GT Designer to also create lower thirds for Vmix, even with better compatibility and ease of use in terms of editing the texts inside the lower third

After Effects, however, are more complex and are richer in terms of animation features compared to GT Designer. With After effects i can use varying fonts and more complex animations ( 2 features in which GT Designer seems limited). Which leads me to think, if not GT Designer or after effects, what graphics editor program do most people use out there to design lower thirds in Vmix?

You can use something simple as powerpoint (with ppt to ndi converter) or more professional newblue titler.

It's great, easy to learn, affordable, and integrates simply (browser capture) with vMix.

this Singular.Live is really interesting, can it also extract and develop some kind of a leaderboard system that is dynamic based on a data source template?

The most compatible Graphics Editors to design Vmix Titles are obviously GT and/or Title Designer.
If you want more you can also use Visual Studio (on which GT & TD) are built and which provide unlimited features and full integration potential.

depending on how much animation one wants

GT title designer can in some way based on the data

else XAML (Visual Studio) can do more complex stuff with coding embedded within for more action based on data

Do they not accept purchases for their applications? I can't seem to find their purchase page anywhere

What do you want to buy? Their website?
It's a cloud-based app, so as always it's subscription only
