I use Bomes MIDI translator to map the MIDI, you can attach multiple MIDI devices and route them to a virtual input, so you could easily add more than one to feed the MIDI (just select one for the Bomes virtual inputs as your MIDI source)
In my case, I use it so I can send MIDI to VMix and to the RTPMidid network to control other devices/computers on the network. You can also add complex MIDI scripting, filtering and application events with it. Its a great application.

I am only using shortcuts at the moment, but I have three xKeys in my setup (an XK128 and XK124 T-bar for the tech director and an xKeys 12 key shuttle for replay) and everything works fine.
I have taken the precaution of putting each unit on a separate Midi channel so I can fir more controllers in (we are integrating a Behringer BCF2000 and the vMix Audio Pro Mixer app for our sound operator).
So far (two pre-season soccer games), everything has worked like clockwork.

I know this is a very old topic but i'm actually stuck with this same problem I bought a Akai APC mini to use by side of my Akai APC 40 Mk2 I have Win10 x64, I tried midi-ox and to have vMix see the I had to add LoopBe1 as virtual midi output (Midi-Yoke doesn't work on x64) I've been able to remap the channel but LoopBe1 keeps muting itself without let me know what's wrong Moreover I haven't been able to use activators since it keeps sending tha activation signal to the APC 40 Mk2 instead of the APC mini Does anyone have some idea about how to make it work out?
dark_ata
are you still using it? I'm quite sure Bome MIDI translator will work out but spending 59€ over 75€ of the controller it's annoning

!!! I finally understood my mistake in trying to make it work! I have 1 APC40 MKII and 1 APC Mini and I didn't realized at first that I had to remap both controllers. I was keeping the APC40 MKII without any mapping so this was interfering with the other controller producing a weird behaviour that was puzzling me. Since the APC40 MKII works on channels 1 to 9 this is what I did: - On APC40 MKII just remapped channel 1 on channel 11 (2 to 9 are not overlapping)
- On APC Mini remapped channel 1 to channel 10 (the first free channel)
- Added some filters here and there to prevent cross talking
So now everything works like a charm! Many thanks and if you ever pass by Rimini in Italy you can claim for a free beer!

Hey guys, I'm very confused. I have an APK mini, as well as a Launchpad MK. I downloaded midi-ox. I see both controllers in mini-ox, so that's all good. But i just can't figure out this remapping process. When i click a button on one controller, it just lights up another button on the other controller. I watched the videos, but i can't follow what I am supposed to do in order to have the launchpad as a second channel so that i have additional programmable options versus just having two devices that are sharing the same id's. Any help would be welcome! When I do a 'Find" i see same channel values for each of the two devices. When I select Channel Mappings in vMix MIDI settings, nothing is available in the drop down. I do see the APC Mini and the Launchpad MK2 in the device listing, but just can't figure out how to get these to work independently. as an update, I went into the advanced functions of Launchpad an changed its device ID as instructed in this user manual, http://https://fael-downloads-p...kfiEODx_bYZTivPuGC9VMXGgLaunchpad advanced Features GuideBut still no luck. Midi-ox seems to be the the missing link here but it's not that straight forward. Top is what I am stuck on, lower is my goal. it as a crazy criss cross when I first started. Trying to get to this: actual.png (29kb) downloaded 1 time(s). but goal.png (140kb) downloaded 8 time(s).These are my settings: Snag_198ce1c2.png (39kb) downloaded 3 time(s). Snag_198ced0d.png (39kb) downloaded 1 time(s).thanks,

Many thanks to dark_ata for walking me through this today on a Zoom call. Here is a guidebook with a how-to step by step from screenshots that I took. https://docs.google.com/...f15KvIDLvdDL_n9b88I/editAbility to comment has been left on, so if you need to , please add more descriptive info. I honestly could not repeat this without the cook book step by step proccess documented here. i hope i didn't skip anything critical! Paul

So I've done everything that I could to this point to separate the devices and I am able to use them in "Extend" mode! However, when plugging in two Akai APC Minis to my computer, they show the same image on the devices themselves. Meaning that the same buttons are lit up and are flashing, in accordance to what I have in PGM and PVW. How can I truly make these two devices standalone, with different illuminated buttons for the sources I have programmed within vMix? I guess what I'm trying to say is on the devices, how can I see the buttons illuminated for inputs 1-8 on the first APC Mini, and 9-16 on the second APC Mini, without the same buttons flashing and/or lighting up on both devices?
I apologize if my question seems a little confusing. My brain is hurting from all this processing I'm trying to do to make this solution work.

Have a look at Central Control as a solution. It acts as an interface between vMix and the midi controller. centralcontrol.io

I have the same issue, maybe... I have two apcmini connected to my vMix machine. I've configured out in Midi-OX like explained on forum. I'm able to use both controller standalone with shortcurt function. Activators are configured also on both controller but one reflect the other... I'm stunning on this trouble... many tnx.
