I'm configuring a new system - Win10 Dell Precision laptop with external AJA IO 4K+ via TB3 interface.

Basic operation is fine. But two things are not clear:

VMix configures the AJA interface with 2x input and 2x output. The hardware can also be used as 4x input or 4x output. But that cannot be set via AJA Control panel but is up to the application. VMix seems to retain the 2x in / 2x out setup. You can create a VMix input that is assigned to SDI 3 but it does not seem to reconfigure AJA IO accordingly. Can it be done, what has to be changed?

If I wanted to use the system for live titles and inserts in a larger setup, it would be nice to output key + fill. The AJA IO can be configured on SDI 3+4 to be V+K but it doesn't look like VMix is driving this correctly. Does it support Key + Fill for AJA IO? I saw a different thread that only listed DeckLink output on that topic.

Much prefer the AJA box over the UltraStudio if I can avoid it...

Thanks,
Jan

You really only have to worry about the AJA panel if you want to route analog audio, VMix pretty takes over all the other functions.

I usually use SDI 1-3 as input and 4 as external output to recorder and program monitor.

As for Key + Fill, I seem to recall there were some issues there...
