I have audio set up to send Headphones to my speakers, and Master to Windows default. As follows:
vMix Master set to Default Windows Playback Device vMix Headphones set to Speakers (Realtek Audio) Windows Audio output set to the HDMI device
This was working fine if HDMI is set for the in Windows for audio output before I launch vmix.
A problem happened when Speakers were selected in Windows, then launch vmix, then change Windows audio out to HDMI. There was no sound output to vMix Headphones for my speakers.
This problem only happened on a new computer. Two other computers, one with the latest version of Windows didn't have the problem.
The new laptop running latest Windows build 19041 has an extra feature. ( found this by comparing with the others ). The new one has a feature called "Signal Enhancements" in Speakers Properties. By default this was ticked. The other laptops don't have this, so I unticked it, and then was able to launch vMix, and change between Speakers and HDMI audio, and the sound kept working as set in vMix.
Just wanted to share this for others who may experience this next time you get a new computer.
