So... I have audio coming over our Dante network via NIC 1 into vMix.
vMix automatically broadcasts out to the internet via NIC 2 to our general (internet connected) network.

vMix always creates an IP address for web tally lights over the NIC 1 network, but I want it to create an IP address for web tally lights over the NIC 2 network.

Is there a way to "tell" vMix to stay off NIC 1 for web tally communication?

Also... if it were up to me, Dante would run over the general network, not it's own dedicated network, but the powers that be aren't having it, so I can't just drop that one, it's how all my audio comes in.

Hi,

While the box showing the IP will only show the first it finds, vMix Web Controller
(and vMix Social) are available on all IPs on the system on the same port, so no further configuration
is necessary just use the preferred IP and you're done!

Martin

how can I tell vMix to use a dedicated NIC for streaming?
Stream 1 to NIC 1
Stream 2 to NIC 2

Hi,

In Windows, only one internet connection can be active at a time (i.e one actrive "default gateway") so
vMix will stream to that and there is no way to change this. (as Windows cant route out to two internet connections at the same time).

Hi
if there are two Nics on separate LANs with two gateways, how does Windows decide, which it will use?
Or have I to setup static IPs in this case?

for the second stream, I now have to use a second computer to stream to an other destination with the second Internet?

You would want to use the metric assignable property in the NICs and or setup routes using the "route" command and persistent flag where stream 1 is going to IP1 and make sure that IP1 is always routed to the NIC with GW1 and the same on IP2. You'll need to use static's and the host file otherwise.

But i do agree with having the ability for vMix to use a dedicated NIC just like i wish you could with NDI.
