Hi Guys, Today I dealt again with the NDI monitor and the Raspberry PI. Until now it was not possible because of the ARM CPU, but apparently the problem has now been solved. I came across the following article https://www.mgraves.org/...o-display-an-ndi-stream/The developer website https://dicaffeine.comI tried it with a Raspberry PI 3B + and had to find out that it didn't really work. The CPU is fully utilized and there are always dropouts in the image. It was only when I activated the Low Resolution option that it worked but the picture was bad. The CPU load then went back to 600 MHz and remained stable there. My vMix edition was goods 1280x720p by 30fps Maybe someone can test it on a Raspberry PI 4, unfortunately I have none available. I used Buster with desktop because a desktop icon is created which you have to click on.

That's my blog. I used Pi4. Was directly in touch with the Jiří Melnikov, author of Dicaffiene.
I'm looking for a Pi compatible platform that has more CPU grunt, so we can do 1080p30.
However, Jiří Melnikov is also working porting to Linux on Arm. That would open the door to various hardware. Maybe an Asus Tinker S would be better. Needs CPU to be under 80% to be stable.

Ah ok,
I am also looking for a small solution for a projector that is as free as possible from latency.
I am currently using an HP Prodesk that is relatively large, so a raspberry PI is the best.
1080p30 would of course be the best for me too. Which Raspberry PI 4 did you have for testing with 2 GB RAM or with 4 GB RAM?
Let's see how the project continues. Drivers will surely perform better.
What about the license? So how did I see it, how was it a device ID, when I have to reinstall the raspberry or do I want to use the license on another PI?

Yes, as the post described, in my last project I used Lenovo M73 Tiny for projectors. The i5-4790 was a good solution.
I have Pi4 with 2GB and 4GB. Both work fine. Dicaffeine uses very little memory.
I don't have a license yet, so I'm not sure how that works.

I only have an i3-4160t that works, but the load on the internal graphics card is very high, which leads to stutters. I have already considered swapping the CPU for an i5 4590t, I don't know if that will bring anything.
I will definitely keep an eye on that with dicaffeine, maybe the Raspberry PI will be a real alternative as an NDI monitor. I could imagine that the price is great.

Here a PI4 2GB works very well with a 720p50 NDI Source

I just found this discussion today, but using a Raspberry Pi 4 with 8GB or RAM is working well in test. I'm interested in trying it in a production environment.

also in 1080p50 or 1080p60 with fast moving videos? tried it also with a 4GB Pi4 and got a jerky output from the Pi

The sequences I created show a 4-way split: - Web interface for DiCaffeine - NDI source stream - Output of Pi captured into Birddog Mini - Bashtop measure of CPU usage of the Pi The Pi4 plays the 720p30 stream without being CPU-bound. However, it's very clearly CPU overloaded trying to play the 1080p streams.
