When using an ordinary Logitech webcam as a camera input then the frame rate is awful. I tried different models and on different computers with vmix installed and different USB ports. About 3 to 4 frames per second. The webcams just work fine with Skype, Zoom, Teams and OBS. Unfortunately not with vMix (latest version of coarse).

What could be the reason for this?

Thanks,
Peter.

Make sure you set the video encoding type to MJPEG. This will conserve bandwidth over the USB link, to help ensure a decent frame rate.

Also, if you are using Brio specifically, select the Brio MF device. This uses a different mechanism to access the camera. It's the best way to go beyond 720p30.
