Hi.

We're multicording a number of vmix sources (via outputs, to get round the multiple file problem), and an output with the inputs in 'boxes' with a graphic.
Output 1 - vmix call 1
Output 2 - vmix call 2
Output 3 - vmix call 3
Output 4 - graphic with inputs in boxes

We've also enabled the SRT stream for the output - which looks lovely.

However, all multicordings have artifacts which look like the picture is sub-HD and has been scaled. There are jagged edges along diagonals, and it doesn't even look as good as the SRT version!
In the attached image (if you open it fullsceen) you can see jagged edges on the graphic, and on my glasses. They're not there when viewing the vmix UI directly or as I say on the SRT streamed output.

Latest version
Output resolution set to 1920x1080 50i
High input performance mode enabled (it made no difference).
(attached image is from the 2-input version, but settings are identical)

Screenshot 2020-05-19 at 10.42.23.jpg (323kb) downloaded 15 time(s).

Does anybody have any thoughts? We're stuck at the moment, as the quality just isn't good enough to use.

Thanks - would really appreciate any thoughts/suggestions.
Geoff

What are the multicorder settings?
What are the output settings?
Can check those where you'd enable an SRT setup in the gear icon for each output.

Try recording in MP4 and playing with the bitrate and encoding settings, see if that improves.

It may just be a really low bitrate.

Is the video showing the jagged edges or just the screenshots?

Hi - thanks for replying. All good questions.

multicorder settings:
- MP4
- 16 Mb/s
- H264High profile
- 192kb/s audio
- Using hardware encoder (NVidia Quadro K2200)
- NOT fault tolerant

output settings:
- Resolution default (though HD makes no difference)
- Quality: H264 2mpbs AAC 128kpbs (this is the return video, right?)
- Using hardware encoder
- Using low power encoder
- SRT enabled on output 4 only (mixer PGM)

It's the video as well - not just the screenshot - honest!!

:D

Thanks,
Geoff

In exciting news, I've fixed it (and made it worse in a different way).

By using the FFMPEG -> MP4 NVENV AAC setting instead, this FIXES the jagged edges. The output looks like a proper non-scaled HD picture.

Yay!

However ... the recorded video 'pauses' or sticks every few seconds.

So close!

Video file here for you all to take a look at:

Thanks!
