Hey all,

We have now run into three people on our staff that have had this same issues, and looking for some help.

We are all use external cameras connected to a UVC HDMI to USB device. In this case, an El Gato Camlink 4K, El Gato HD60S+, and Magewell USB HDMI, on MacOS 10.13-10.15.

While Chrome has the UVC device properly selected and every other browser based video chat we try works fine, VMixCall keeps reverting to use the integrated webcam on our Macbook Pros/iMacs. Note in all these instances, VMix call did work properly with the device until it started just acting this way. And it usually just fixes itself after awhile (days, maybe a week?) and then after a short period of time it starts all over again.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Firefox usually work just fine with VMIX Call, and have had better luck with it, but it even randomly happens with it as well.

No other software is using the cameras at the same time. And, again, other sites with browser-based Video chat (whether WebRTC or Hangouts/Meetings) work fine.

We've tried completely uninstalling all traces of Chrome just to see if it helps, but it doesn't.

Also have same issue with beta.vmixcall.com

Helle Dave,

That Sounds intresting. I had similar experience but nothing worked for me in any Browser.

I wanted to have an Screenshare option by utilize an NDI Converter Tool.
All Callers wäre experts in Touchdesigner and well known to virtual webcams.

Can you post wich Browser on what OS worked for your Capture Camera?

Behause with Jitsi i had the other experience that Firefox blocks changing the System Webcam as a security Feature and chrome was able to select the desired video input.

Greetings Paul

I'm having the same issue with Chrome on Windows 10. The dropdown box that appears when you click the camera icon is locked. It won't drop down. If we click MANAGE and go into the settings, we can select the external camera but everytime Chrome reverts to the built camera.

Same problem, a subject’s camera doesn’t display even though active with audio. In one case with an Imac web cam using Chrome browser, which did display in one session and then not in another. The other instance on a desk top, Windows 10, a Chrome browser with a Canon vixia hv40 connected by HDMI to an intensity 4xpro capture card. This setup is normally used as an input to Vmix but will not show up on a Vmix call.
