Do pro hardware encoders (Videon, AJA, Teradek, etc) provide better quality/stability than encoding through VMix and streaming to RTMP or Social destinations through the program?

With a 1080 ti, I am at 100 GPU Memory pre-encode and stream. However am only like 2% CPU usage on my Ryzen 9 3900X. I tried to reduce inputs, but for the integrity of the show, can't go any lower.
Was figuring to get a pro hardware encoder and SDI out through my decklink to rely on that to encode in case my GPU starts overload and drop frames and etc.
Any significant pros to the HW encoding option or suggestions in my situation?

Many Thanks folks, be healthy and safe
