Hello
I would like to know if anybody is using vimeo/livestream platform. At this momment i am using Youtube Facebook and most of the times Da Cast and i wanted to try it. So does anybody knows the following
  • In the vimeo premium is the bandwidth ulimmited as the say?

  • Can i emmbed the live stream in any site or do i have to watch it through (livestream vimeo)?

  • Is the player without logo or i will see it is vimeo?

  • What do they mean that unlimmeted bndwidth is through vimeo player?

  • Is it ok? some say that tou might face frequent timeouts? Is this real?
Are there any other problems or is it ok to try it?

Thank you in advance

Yes, but like everyone else, there's always a limit if you abuse it.

Can i emmbed the live stream in any site or do i have to watch it through (livestream vimeo)?
You can embed anywhere, be sure to use the recurring event setting if you plan on testing and using the same embed code, or if you stop streaming for a bit.

Is the player without logo or i will see it is vimeo?
You can remove the logo and customize the player in settings just like regular Vimeo.

What do they mean that unlimmeted bndwidth is through vimeo player?
You can use a third party player with Vimeo, so I guess they are saying limits apply in this case.

Is it ok? some say that tou might face frequent timeouts? Is this real?
They do have outages from time to time, usually short, but I always have a Youtube backup embed ready to go in case it happens.

Are there any other problems or is it ok to try it?
It's quite nice for the price/features at $900/year.

To be fair, The review site above Trust Pilot says the exact opposite.

https://www.trustradius.com/products/vimeo/reviews

My two cents. Yes, they can be pretty slow to respond, but right now I can understand. The stream quality blows Youtube out of the water.

Their uptime lately has me concerned, but again, we are in weird times. They have lots of options for embed. They provide adaptive rate streaming.

The price is much cheaper than alternatives like Wowza. But there is plenty of fish in the sea when it comes to live streaming.

Vince,
You can check out Vimeo Premium with a 30 day money back guarantee.

I recently got it and I am going to keep it.
You also get free Livestream Producer software which is great for streaming.

Currently we ´re evaluating Vimeo Livestream,

did in the last four Weeks on three Wednesdays in the evening a live stream:

1st Stream, everything was fine
2nd Stream, 2h before Live, Vimeo Site had partial Outage, no chance to go Live, 30min before Stream they were back, no problems during 4h Stream
3rd Stream, serious Drops during Stream, first 2h ok, then 1h framerate gone crazy btw. 15 and 60fps (sending 30fps via restream.io), last hour was ok

Support wasn´t realy helpful during 3rd Stream, they told me to do a Speedtest while Live?! and send the results, then i was told to adjust to 30fps, but we already were at 30fps, and at last they only ingest 5mbit, we were sending with 6mbit, also the two Streams before having no problems.

Also streamed to Youtube and Facebook, there were absolutly no Problems, just cut offs due to the Music.

One Problem we have all the Time, is sporadic Drops and Cracks in Audio.

And the biggest Concern, everything is converted to 30fps. I´m living in Europe and waiting for a native 25fps support.

I don't know what Meridix is like. I haven't tested it yet. There is a free version for testing.
The live streaming account has a high price.

Edit:

Eventuell wix

How to Live Stream to your Wix website with vMix.

Hi Markus,

That sure sounds concerning. You mention 5 Mb/s as max ingest speed, but I think that’s just the recommended speed?
I routinely stream to at 10 Mb/s and it shows in the analytics.

The drop outs seem odd too. Are you sure you’re not dropping frames in VMix in audio or rendering.

The Supportchat told me that they only ingest 5mbit/s.

Regarding Audiodrops, we had different combinations, one or two streams parallel from one vMix to vimeo, Youtube, facebook or via restream.io...

Youtube and facebook were clean, Vimeo not.
