Showing a specific content from a huge group???

Sorry for the may be newbie question but, yeah, i am new to vMix so I am not sure to have learned all in the right way
I am setting up my production system, but i am stuck on an approach problem
Quite often i have to work with 5 or 6 speaker, each with a "media collection" which includes photos and video coming from any sources including mobile phones
sometime i receive last photos may be half an hour before the live
When the speaker are on stage, they talk without a real track, so the say "can you please show the photo where i am doing this" or "can you send the video xxx"
and i have to output on the fly
So, I can't find the perfect way to do this in vMix
if I use a list i have just a... list of contents (may be 100 or more), so it is impossible to me to understand from the filename which is the right one in that moment
Even if I use preview and click on prev/next buttons it will take too much time
If I import all the contents in vMix it will be a nightmare because i will have 100 of objects and i will loose the important ones (i could assign a specific color to this kind of content but it has to be done one by one and i don't have the time to do it)
the perfect choice should be the list option but with an Icon preview, but it is not possible
So I try to do the same sharing a chrome istance with drag and drop from an open folder showing large icons, it could work BUT i don't have audio out, so no good for videos
Any approach i have tested has more problems than solutions, so... what do you suggest to do?
May be I don't see something obvious?

an option might be to organize these images and videos in standard explorer folders (or more) and just drag the wanted file into vMix for use
if you can handle lots of inputs , have them all loaded and organized in the vMix colored categories; at least the visual "lists" would be shorter to pick and choose from
One can easily drag loaded items to a colored category ( or drag them from a folder strait into a colored category)
at some point you do have to find some time to prepare or organize !! like instruct your speaker to create some sort of reference to what they want to be shown

Dont forget one can also name the colored categories and you have 6 of them so name them the callers name which then contain their own images/videos
