Desktop Capture on HOST MACHINE

So it's possible the lock down has me thinking things out in a crazy way so I apologize in advance.
I am using a laptop to play around with NDI settings and such. I have VMIX running off of what I am calling the host machine. Is there a way to Desktop Capture just a program such as POWERPOINT or any video software or even the actual desktop itself from the host machine without getting an infinite loop. I know even as I am asking this it seems like a feedback loop to want to preview your own desktop. That said, when I've watched the tutorial videos it would seem like everything is working properly for them. I have other laptops hooked in and it seems to be flawless whether I run the VMIX desktop capture or NDI tools.
But if I want to put out my own desktop as running VMIX I am getting infinite loops on the host machine. Am I missing something or is it just simply a feedback loop and everyone experiences it.
Thank you in advance.

You can do one of the following: 1) Connect second monitor to your computer and capture it via vMIX. 2) Capture a single program, not the whole screen. 3) Minimize vMIX and do your job.

Thanks the reply. Ok that's what I suspected was the story. I appreciate it.
So even for a specific program that's captured, it would obviously need to be on the secondary monitor. As if only one monitor is active it only shows the VMIX program.
All good either way.
I appreciate the answer.

I'm not sure, but I think you misunderstood andreypetr. It is possible to "Capture a single program, not the whole screen." See: https://forums.vmix.com/...x-23-Changelog#post72968You have to choose "WindowsGraphicsCapture: This is available on Windows 10 1809 or higher and captures most applications including browsers and Windows Store apps." See: https://www.vmix.com/hel...LocalDesktopCapture.htmlTry if it fits your needs.

So that was the answer I was looking for. Tried it earlier today and that's exactly what I was trying to do. I appreciate the information.
I feel that tiny piece of info was lacking from the tutorials I was watching. That's all cleared up now and working as I was hoping.
Cheers.
