So I download a trial version of vmix and playing around with it for a couple weeks now and then a couple of live streams. But on Easter morning when I was supposed to be going live at 11 o’clock for our church Sunday morning streaming service all I was out putting was color bars but yeah in my output window it showed my cameras. It wasn’t until I checked my iPad to see how the Live streaming looked that I Realized I wasn’t streaming the actual video, But only color bars I have some small issues assuming that it was a Learning curve, but I could not get rid of the color bars even after restarting vmix. I finally gave up and just went to Facebook live and start streaming there and left out the equation of vmix. I think this is the end of my trial version I will move on to some other kind of software. Thanks but no Thanks!

The choice of a streaming software is yours and anyone can do what he wants but let me say something about your post. There are a lot of streaming software on the market but no one has so many features like Vmix and I think it's the most stable too. I think that the problem you had was caused by an your error in configuration. That kind of problem occours, for example, when you configure the external output to the streaming and you forget to click on the external output icon (I say this because it happened to me). Many other reasons could cause your problem but I think that what I described is the most common. I'd suggest to try again some more times before to abandon a software like Vmix.

Quote: I download a trial version of vmix and playing around with it for a couple weeks ....I think this is the end of my trial version while vMix lets you play with it for 3 month & FOR FREE with all its bells and whistles! vMix isn't complex at all , has a ton of possibilities and is very flexible. Of course if one uses the wrong switch the wrong light will go on. We all have been there that why there is this community, to help. But of course its easier for your first post to be a complaint and blame something else but yourself (hope this is not what this church preaches). Quote:I will move on to some other kind of software. Have fun.

Again, we all have been there and we all gladly give help ... but we can only if asked (can not read minds) Maybe unplug and plug back in (restart) as it seems you got off on the wrong foot

My wild guess would be that you are streaming or previewing a different Output. Also, you should always test your first stream before going live.
I know vMIX might be tough for a newcomer. But if you know what you are doing - it's great.

Don't sweat it Beninfo; ive been using vmix off and on for 3 years. The color bars had me stumped once or twice. We all have to refresh from time to time so this is post is very useful; it allowed me to do a head slap in approx 15 seconds and continue working. Dont give up on vMix. It is a great product.
