I have 4 layers in my Multiview - a background image, 2 black 'letterbox' straps (top & bottom) and the camera (with keyed out green screen).I want the speaker in the camera to be at the front, and the incoming overlay to be behind them (so if they wave their hand while chatting about the info on the overlay, their hand does not disappear.

The Overlays are typically slides of coming meetings, etc.
Any ideas how to do this - I've hunted around and so far have drawn blanks.

 Thanks!

add a layer between for your slides i the multiview maybe and do not use as overlay ( you know lay over something)or have the talent on an overlay also but higher number than the slides overlay

Hi Doggy - I tried that - but didn't work (leave say Overlay 4 free) - and see if Overlay 4 would slide in - but nope!I don't want the overlay on the talent - but maybe that's a last resort...

                @ pjackel
Screen shots would certainly help, but if I have understood you correctly, I would suggest using the "Mix" Input as the lowest layer in your Input MultiView and your greenscreen talent at the highest layer, then you can use the "Slide" transition in the "Mix" Input to achieve the effect you describe.

Try Ice his sugestion including some screenshots or other means to really explain what you would like to happen

As for overly 4, this definitely wont slide in between as that is the topmost layer !

Appreciate the help! So - here's a pic of what I'm trying to achieve - this is using OBS. The talent and background - are what vMix would call a Multiview. Then I want to slide the picture in - so that it sits behind the talent, but in front of the background image. In this clip - about 10 photos were used ... |

There are several options from manual to auto. This is the manual one:
 Create a new blank input
Put your background on layer 4
Put your picture on layer 5
Put your talent on layer 6

 Create a shortcut:
 Key/Control: key of your choice
 Function: MultiViewOverlay
Input: number of your new created input (multiview)
 Value: 5

Now, whenever you click on the shortcut button, the picture appears/disappears

you like to let the image slide in ?
have a multiview with all the layer in the right order , background, image and talent
position and size the various layers to the look you want
Create a virtual input ( a copy) from this multiview and reposition the image layer (drag it off screen )
now Merge between the original multiview and its virtual counterpart
image slides in from the position offscreen to the position onscreen , merge again to do the reverse

Hey thanks for the follow-up. I get what you're both saying - and I setup rudyengels idea - it worked to turn off/on the single slide. But not really what I'm trying to do - I need to be able to work through a list of talking points each with their own slide ... say 10 background slides (not 1).
Is there a way to do this ... it seems like this would be a pretty simple thing to accomplish - but maybe not in vMix?

Is funny , once there is a solution , there is the other part: yes but also.. It's dead simple , that layer holding the slide input can be whatever is easiest to for you to change its content. Problem is there are several options to do that ranging from manually changing/loading individual slide to image sequence, image folder/photos to a "title" holding an image referenced by a data source. Check to helpfiles to see what input type would suit you best |

OK - I've almost got it working - I'm using a photo slideshow as my input for the slides. It always starts up as an automatic slideshow - how to force it to manual?I'll hit the help file.

Thanks for the help all. Very appreciative.

Ahh - just worked it out - you set the transition for the slides to 0.That's not very clear. But not much is until you know it, eh!
