As some of you may know I'm new to vMix and I'm loving the community here and the software including the many flaws it has (like any software really)!
I've noticed so many people moving over to 'Zoom' or 'Belive' due the simplicity of use. Personally I like the instant chat (unlike vSocial which takes around 10 seconds to display any comments, what I do I require it instantly) and the multiple live cameras (without any loss).
I personally feel since the lockdown in most countries people want instant access without having to buy capture cards, additional mics and hardware etc. I followed the tutorial regarding Zoom the other day and thought what a complete load of fuss, so I ditched vMix and used Zoom (we had 10 live cams/people live without any issues at all) and the chat was instant.
I'm not saying Zoom has flaws, lots can be improved, but I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are now that we have the lockdown, and people want ease of use without the fuss?
BTW I'm not leaving vMIx, love it :D

vMix was not created with a lockdown in mind vMix is a live video editing platform , not a chat platform
don't compare apples with oranges
The flaws you claim vMix has ar yours because you choose the wrong fruit for the dish you want
With 93 post you are not new to vMix but an advanced member already

Interesting discussion.
May I analaginize?
Oranges are better than grapefruits. They're smaller and sweeter and they don't interfere with some medications like grapefruits do
Or this...
Pick-up trucks are better than 18-wheelers (lorries?). They are more nimble, use less gas and are easier to drive than 18-wheelers.
So.. my thoughts... vMix and Zoom are different. They serve different markets. They have different functions. They may have areas where they operate similarly, but they are not interchangeable. While they may be used in conjunction with each other, one does not substitute for the other.

Careful Tom :-) How many tons you have to carry in one trip ? What is cheaper for transporting people ? a car or a bus ( hint: bus can replace up to 50+ cars ) lockdown blues

I have been using vMix pro almost 2 years, I love it, mostly live, Zero failure. What else I can ask for. believed or not it was and still is huge help during the lock-down when most of the TV personal setting up their remote location for daily shows and using vMix.

With 93 post you are not new to vMix but an advanced member already Thanks for the comments dodgy, I'm still learning the software and the flaws are mainly because I'm not understanding all the features yet. I only use the basic HD side of things (just can't afford the pro) but in many cases I've found issues (previous posts). The main one for me is the vSocial, in my live streams the comments are so important to keep the interaction, but it's so darn slow (not sure if that's FB or vM, we have to wait over 10 seconds for the comment to shows up).

That's my next step, remote access, I'll get my head around it one day lol.

Thank you for calling me dodgy hmm. It's not fair to call vMix having many flaws then if you don't understand all the features ! This ha nothing to do with the license you are using as we all know various levels have various restrictions ( not flaws) which on the other hand wont solve everything you ask for by getting a higher level license. WHile it's nice one can interact with FB for example , it's not vMix it's fault if FB is the one messing things up all the time .As an example try to use FB on a very slow connection and you will be surprised on how poorly it behave if you can acces it even while at the same time any other website , even youtube, it is not such a big deal. If social interaction is really that crucial to you , you need to find other ways (and maybe even pay for it) to work around it . a strait path is not always the fastest
