Dear vMix-Team and Users,
i have some problems with the vMixCall.
With some guests it works really fine and great but with many others it doesnt work. I checked their firewall settings, told them to use different browsers, PC, smartphone, ... but some always had problems.
I send them the vCall Link (I tested it - i was able to connect with audio and video, and perfect return feed) but when they connected - they saw their own video in tha small window but the return feed was only blue. In my CallManager i saw that they tried to connect but there was only the message: "Sending our reply to initiate the call..." and the "Call connected" Message never appeard.
Has anyone the same Problems? Must be a Problem of the Settings of the computer. A friend tried his PC, it didnt work, than the PC of his wife and he was able to connect without any problem.
We checked the following things: *Firewall Setting *no vpn connection at the same time *updated browser *good internet connection *several vCall Links (none worked)
Any other Idea where the Problem could be? Thanks for your help. Best, Meischi

But this will not solve your problem complete. The option "Allow only direct peer to peer connections" allows you to test if the firewall has the required ports open. If not, it is possible that no or bad connections are established. You have to open INBOUND UDP Ports on your Router to the specific IP of your VMIX Computer. from the VMIX Manual: Quote:vMix Call is able to establish connections automatically through most firewalls, however in some cases your network administrator may need to allow access for the best results. Firewall Requirements TURN/STUN: Port 10349 UDP/TCP Video/Audio Streams: Dynamic Port Allocation UDP - 49152-65535

Thanks, good to know. But we tried to open ALL Ports in the Firewall of the Guest, but vCall Connection was not working. Any Idea or good tutorial how to change it? I probably made a mistake in the firewall setting. thanks

The nature of peer to peer is that both systems can see and talk to each other. That said, the ports have to be open on both sides. Sender AND Receiver.

I think thats not correct. UDP is Unicast, goes only in one direction. Since you normally only can take influence on your side of the internet, the ports have to be open on your side. The connection is INBOUND. See the example of my router, there is a portforwarding rule to the IP 192.168.10.2 (the computer that runs VMIX in your network) and the external ports 49152 - 65535 are forwarded through the firewall to the same internal range of your computers ip. if you do this, it should imediately connect with the "Allow only direct peer to peer connections" checked. if you test this with your mobile phone, make shure you are not connected via WIFI in the same network as your VMIX computer. portforwarding edited.PNG (62kb) downloaded 1 time(s).

Peter, Maybe I'm completely off or going mad with the virus, but with vMixCall both ends are sender and receiver. The vMix machine receives the remote guest and sends back the output feed. At the remote side the browser sends the webcam and receives the output.

Thanks to all and your input!!!
The think with peer-to-peer - i can connect with some people and woth others not. So my firewall and port settings should be fine. But I cant check the setup with the vCall Guests all the time. So without the active peer-to-peer checkbox, all my tests with different people (especially with the peer-to-peer problems) work now and I get sound and video from them.
So I guess i leave it like this for now.
