Hi!
Last week i have recived my new Extron AXI 44 AT Dante device. It has 4 inputs and 4 outputs. My idea was: use 3 inputs to get 3 mics of our talents, and the 4th input to get out producer. Output the same: 3 headphones to talents with vMix PGM output and 4th to the producer.
The idea was fine, but i saw that when a talent speaks in the mic, he listen he own voice with a delay of 180ms. That delay is fine for me on my workflow but our talents cant work with that delay.
Now i work with: Input: Extron AXI 44 AT routed to Dante Virtual Soundcard (via Dante Controller) vMix audio input (Dante Virtual Soundcard) to BUS A BUS A setted to Dante Virtual Soundcard (via Dante Controller) Output: Headphones to Extron AXI 44 AT
Dante Virtual Soundcard ASIO latency setted to 1ms Dante Virtual Soundcard latency setted to 4ms Extron latency setted to 1ms
vMix 22 HD (lastest 22 update)
Is there another way to get this setup to work?
Thanks in advance Best regards

My question is, why do you route the audio through vMix? You can route Dante audio sources to destinations via the Dante Controller. By doing this, you won't experience the delays.
Audio in vMix is delayed, since all inputs are synced, and therefore you get the delay on the audio (bus) outputs from vMix no matter what.

Well, i want to route the audio through vMix because in that way i can send the output audio mix to the talent. I.E. if i use vMix call i can route through BUS A. In the other hand, i can't route an input to an output of the same device (at least Dante Controller do not allows to do that). Thanks! Best regards

@guztavo I do something similar to what you’re doing. I use 2 Studio Technologies Model 204 Announcer Consoles. I take Main output from each console as input to vMix using Virtual Sound Card, then I send Mix A back to console A minus their own audio, and then Mix B to console B minus their own audio. This way they hear program, but don’t hear their own audio delay.
This works, unless they’re not using double muff headphones, then they will hear their partners slightly delayed audio in their open ear, for most that isn’t a problem.

Hi,
I use Dante excessively on my workflow and only thing I can think of right now is that you might have a routing problem. When you route 4 mics to Bus A and send that to talent due to vMix's excellent automated delay, there will be a delay between 180-200ms Now here is a question, do you want the talents to hear their own voice? (Monitoring purposes?)

Have you looked into stigaard's post. I have tried a Logitech 540 send through dante and linked mic to speaker. It works and I can hear what I say with no delay.

Curtis, i think your idea may work in this case. Not sure how happy will be our talents! lol I will try! Quote:Hi,

cho123, exactly, i want the talents to hear their own voice. When they don't have headphones, with the stadium noise they usually start yelling, and at the end of the venue they don't have voice. mavik! I have seen stigaard's post. May be my Dante Device cannot do that. Check at this pic: In my case, seems to be that i cant use same device. In the other hand, if i route throug the same device i will not get the audio to vMix, as i cant route the mics to 2 devices at the same time. Quote:In this case you can route to Dante using extra bus to your destination. Routing to dante from vmix call will not have any delay.
Yep! True about vMix call.. and other audio inputs. But the main issue is earing their own voices without considerable delay! Thanks for helping!!

I could route a single dante source to multiple destinations like a audio patchbay. Maybe you are right that there are limitations with your specific audio device. But generell this is possible and is how everyone would expect it to be.

Well... bad news here. It seems to be that some devices cannot route audio themselves, as shown in Audinate: This is my Ultimo based device: So... nothing to do... in a simple way. I will keep looking for another solution using this device and maybe a small mixer. Thanks for helping!

Yes, I used VIA for the test. DVS and VIA are exclusive aps. They can't run concurrently. And VIA is stereo only.

Well, finally i found a kind of solution: I've found a personal audio monitor: https://articulo.mercado...ersonal-pm100-anleon-_JMThis will give our talent their own voice and a loop audio output of clean mic, that i will use to get into Dante. Then, i will send from vMix all audio except their own voice (one bus per talent), and that input in each audio monitor to get the mix (each audio monitor has an aux input that will be mixed with the mic). Each one costs about U$S 60 and i will need one per talent. Thanks to all for your help!
