Looking at some (very) tight budget ways to get a clean 1080p signal from a camera with HDMI out to the vMix desk 60 feet away. Right now it's being encoded (H.264 15 mbps) to get it there as the initial build had an insane timeline and I had the encoder. I was thinking: HDMI > SDI 6G > SDI capture (around $350 to do) HDMI Cat6 extenders, but all I see is wildly varying levels of success, reliability, and tales of woe Then I though of something like this: Monoprice SlimRun AV HDRHas anyone used an HDMI over fiber cable like this for a camera > capture run? Not converter boxes, but cables with the conversion built into the connectors.

You could use Decimator MD-LX HDMI/SDI Bi-Directional Converter for 3G/HD/SD 99$ and Blackmagic Design DeckLink Mini Recorder 145$. I don't know if anyone used you solution, but I have used this setup plenty.

We use them, different brands, no problem. Longest we have is 50 meter/150 feet. You just have to remember they are unidirectional - one end is in and the other out.

It's just what I'm building. I know that the cable for sdi is 75 ohm but do you have any other advice about that? I see there are a lot of cables in the market (Amazon included).
