Hello, all. I'm in the process of putting together solutions to replace our aging TriCaster. Right now it's between another turnkey solution and a vMix build, but I'm leaning heavily towards vMix. I would like to build up a laptop for the rare occasion we need to do production offsite. I know the Area-51 is a heavy beast but this will primarily be a stationary workstation. I'll need to output full screen with audio via HDMI to the room and SDI to the auto captioner; my intention is to use the onboard HDMI or TB3 dock and one of the DeckLink ports. The stream will be done from an AJA Helo after the feed is Closed Captioned. - Alienware Area-51 Gaming Laptop
Alienware Area-51m (1 HDMI, 1 mDP, RJ45, 1 TB3 - 8.5 lbs) 9th Gen i7-9700 Win10 Pro NVDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB 16GB, 2x8GB RAM 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD + 1TB Hybrid LCD: 17.3" FHD (1920 x 1080) 144Hz, IPS, NVIDIA G-SYNC, Eyesafe® Display Tech + Tobii Eyetracking
- Dell Gaming Monitor
- DeckLink Quad 2 capture card (in a TB3 enclosure) for six SDI In and one SDI Out full screen with embedded audio.
- Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD to bring in 4 XLR lines.
Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'd especially like to know if G-Sync isn't as important if I'm not streaming onboard. Thanks in advance! Jon
