When Inputs are selected/listed for different layers in Multiview, the names of the Input are shown. That's very good, because when one wants to adjust the layer's position it is reeeally easy to quickly figure out wich layer to work with.

But in the Position tab, only Main, Overlay1, Overlay2, etc are shown in the list. That makes it extreeemely hard to make sure that the desired layer is repositioned.

It would be sooo nice if also the Input names were shown. Or, perhaps me and my colleagues are the only ones who too frequently adjust the wrong layer in the midst of a live production?

@ richardgatarski

If it's an easy fix, I am in agreement, but I somehow feel that this might require a fairly complex re-write.
I think the current functionality is not all that bad (click the "Position" button next to the Overlay in question), but I know what you mean when wanting to adjust things quickly, it's easy to get messed up, especially if you go straight to the Position tab and don't pay attention to the dropdown menu indicating which Overlay you are positioning, but in all fairness, that could happen even if the Input name was listed in the dropdown and why I think the practice of clicking the Position button makes a lot of sense.
Perhaps it makes more sense if the Position tab only opened to the "Main" Input adjustment without a dropdown menu and similarly, each Overlay position button didn't offer a dropdown menu, that way, there is only one way in to make adjustments to any layer.

Just my thoughts.

What is that feeling based on, and why do you bring that up?

Exactly, hence my request

Well, the way the GUI is organized the Position tab happens to be necessary and useful when adjusting multiple layers. And when you open the Settings for an Input the most recently used tab is displayed, which might be Position. I still want to be able to quickly select which layer I am adjusting. Especially if the layer is hidden behind another layer, thus not accessible for drag-and-drop adjustments.

(Change the name from Multi-View to MultiSource or MultiLayer while Martin is at it :-) )

I like MultiLayer — because that is what it is.

Could we expand these names to all field throughut the system? So any input field has it's set name?
