Hi there. Just wondering why -when I add an audio input via firewire vmix sets the audio buffer size on my asio sound card to it's highest setting. IS there any way to avoid this?
regards Cormac

Hi Cormac
my guess: - because it's useless to get ultra short latency on audio for AV - to stay in sync with video inputs - to avoid cracks which may happen when latency is short and CPU highly used - to be able to use buffer audio for GOP encoding
vMix is not a DAW!

It's video conferencing where audio delay becomes problematic. While vMix can be used in conjunction with VC apps like Zoom, Hangouts, etc...it's not its core competency. This is why I run VoiceMeeter Banana along with vMix for most things.

Hello i think that the ability to change the audio buffer to reduce latency would be great. Especially for plugins, so that you can benefit Of the plugins and then be able to use vmix in alot of new ways.
The default buffer is 1024 for me and because of that you cant use plugins or hear the vmix master audio Without echo voice
So for sports commentating it would be awsome to be able to bring in all audio direct in the soundcard And manage all sound in vmix and use plugins and stuff , but now its not possible because of the default buffersetting
So now i need an external mixer to be able to hear the croud att the same time with my voice.
So pleeeeeeease let us decide the buffersettings our selfs , and dont lock it to 1024

But be careful, if you go too low, you will get stutters. You may also get audio echo due to your video capture card having ~200ms delay (camera audio) compared to the audio interface in that case.
